"Volunteerism is vital at all times; it keeps our communities alive... and continues to make a difference even in the lives of those who come after us." Clifton Taulbert
The village of Kennedy is home to a great deal of local volunteerism, possibly in the footsteps of its namesake, John Stewart Kennedy. Kennedy's contributions to cultural, social, and civic institutions were considerable. Libraries and universities, hopitals and charities—all benefitted from his money, his presence, and his administrative skill.
Within the village of Kennedy, civic organizations offer opportunities for all age groups and means. If you are looking for a way to make a difference within our community, consider joining one of our civic organizations. If you are unable to join, please consider supporting special community projects in any way you are able.
The Kennedy Crew is an active, local group that sponsors fundraisers throughout the year for the benefit of individuals or organizations within our community, and the community in general. Thanks to the Crew, much money has been raised for various charitable projects throughout the years. Plus, their efforts have made Kennedy a really hoppin' spot to be during one of their events. A huge thank you to all the Kennedy Crew members!
The Cornerstone Food Pantry offers food and toiletry items to those in need. “Our hope is to help those families and individuals who need just a little extra to get by,” says the Cornerstone board.
